Backstage Blogger

by Jenny Pemberton

I’m so glad you stopped by to check out our new backstage blog. As Marketing Director here at the Paramount, I wanted to be the first to welcome you to our new website, blog and other fun ways to stay connected to the PAC.

This blog won’t be about shows or upcoming events–we have a place for that. This blog is a place where you can find out interesting behind-the-scene facts. You might discover what happened backstage before a performance or something interesting about one of the performers. (But only things they agree to share.)

Did you know that the male dancer in Celtic Crossroads performed here last week and danced in those tap shoes on four broken toes? Did you know that the conductor of an orchestra that recently visited here, once conducted a whole show and had forgotten to zip a particular garment? And did you know that nobody REALLY knows when to clap during an orchestral performance because the rules keep changing?  These are some of the things we’ll write about. And we’ll do whatever it takes to uncover unique stories when these entertainers come to town. Think of it as a Pink Panther adventure. We’ll be the inspector Clouseaus. We may stumble onto some things that get us in trouble, or lead to other stories, or uncover some facts that have nothing to do with anything, but ‘ve vill have fun! (And I’ll try not to be corny, but don’t you just love Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau?)

And don’t expect ME to write every week. That would be boring. The PAC is filled with a variety of creative professionals and we’ll all take turns contributing to this blog. And maybe YOU have something to say. We want to hear from you. If an artsy topic is on your mind or if you are a musician or entertainer with expert advice, send an email to: jenny@paramountartscenter.com and we’ll get your story. We also want to know how we are doing, so don’t be afraid to share your comments. But be gentle, we have a lot of estrogen in this place!

And if you think you might forget to show up here every Monday, then find us on twitter and we’ll just TWEET you a reminder and tell you the topic. Go to twitter.com and search ‘ParamountJoe,’ become a ‘follower’ and we’ll keep in touch.

So I hope you like our new website. Please visit often, things happen fast around here. Shows and events are added every day. You von’t vant to miss out!

I like the blog idea! It provides a wonderful extension to the performances at the Paramount. The new website also looks great! It’s very easy to find the info you need. Thanks Jenny!
